Community felting

Yesterday I ran my first workshop in about 2 years.  We are lucky enough to have our own community hall here and I volunteered to use it to run a felting day.  10 people made it along and only one had ever done any felting before but they all soon got into the swing of things.

A couple of people made pieces to sew into bags but most made table or wall hangings (although I did hear mention of one becoming a dog blanket!).  The end results were just as varied as the personalities attending.

Everyone enjoyed themselves – most saying that they would be keen to have a another go and try something more complex.  It was also a good opportunity for neighbours to spend time together and catch up without feeling the need to force conversation.  After all the costs were taken care of we made $90 for the community hall fund and of course, everyone had something to take home too.
